About Us

Emma

The Crazy Cat Lady

I’m Emma. I’m a wedding photographer, based in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, but covering weddings all over the UK and abroad if I’m lucky enough! I live with my husband, Martin (the other half of Emma Watts Photography) and our collection of rescued animals; Jessie, our labrador-retriever, our cats, Fluff, Stacey (odd name for a cat, we know!), Joey, Phoebe, Tabby and Lizzie (yes, that’s six…) as well as rabbits, Toby and Keira.

I love my family and friends, all animals and have been known to rescue anything from a fly out of the cats’ water bowl (and spiders out of the bath even though I am terrified of them) to injured hedgehogs and pheasants. I am vegan, love the sea and being at the beach, long walks in the countryside, old cars, fairy lights, bunting, pink gerberas, owls, bourbon biscuits and pretty much everything from Sass and Belle. I love old black and white photographs, hearing stories about my grandad (who has inspired my passion for photography), cosy pubs, Malibu and Mai Tais. I love to travel and experience new places, with Hawaii and New York being my most loved so far. I love listening to music and you’ll find anything from The Beatles and The Smiths to Paolo Nutini and my guilty pleasure, Robbie Williams on my spotify history.

I am sentimental (I still have my Sylvanian families in the loft from my childhood that I can’t bear to part with), friendly and emotional, wearing my heart on my sleeve for all to see. I am bubbly, thoughtful and sensitive and will cry from anything from the John Lewis Bear and the Hare advert, to an episode of Corrie! I most certainly will have tears in my eyes from behind the camera on your wedding day, especially whilst I photograph your vows.

I love to record the unexpected, spontaneous moments on your day. My very favourite part of photographing a wedding are the couple photos, where the two of you can relax, be yourselves and try to take in that you have just got married!

Martin Watts wedding photographer

Hi, I’m Martin, the other half of Emma Watts Photography.

I’m the resident geek, the tech support and the one who captures most of the ‘off to the side’ shots you’ll see – mainly by lurking about off in the distance with a big lens whilst trying not to look creepy.

When I bought Emma a camera for Christmas back in 2005, little did I know it would lead to a career change for her and a second job for me.

I’d dabbled with photography as a hobby and I went along to the first few weddings that Emma booked as a second shooter and for a bit of moral support. As it turns out, I love a good wedding and we make an excellent photography team.

Since then, we’ve shot nearly 100 weddings together, captured some amazing memories for our couples and had a blast doing it. I absolutely love that we can create images that will last a lifetime and can be handed down to future generations of your family. It really is the best job in the world!

As for ‘me’ though, I’m a big animal lover (like Emma) and go out of my way to help them when they need a hand. I’ve lost count of the amount of trips we’ve made to St. TiggyWinkles with a hedgehog, a pheasant or been called round to a friends house because there’s a bird stuck in their garden! Our personal record is saving 20 ducks in the back of a B&Q rental van and taking them off to a forever home at a sanctuary.

Emma and I are clearly both as crazy as each other, but we’re the right kinda crazy and hopefully your kind of crazy. We’d love to have a chat and talk about your wedding plans, so get in touch.
